All just participated in an intensive two-day interview process for a position as a worldwide business developer with Focus Reports, a publisher of industry reports for international publications.

Eventually, only two were left.

Bergin, 22, and the other finalist were each given contracts inviting them to spend the next three years of their lives traveling the world, interviewing business leaders and writing reports on the pharmaceutical industry.

Bergin, who is trilingual, will live in 13 different countries for three to four months at a time during the course of her three-year contract. While there, she will prepare reports dissecting the challenges and opportunities in the pharmaceutical industry of that country.

"This is my dream job," said Bergin, who will graduate from Northeastern University with an MBA in international management at the end of this month. One week later, she's off to Madrid.

"I thought I might want to take a job closer to home," Bergin said, "but I decided I am so young and this is my opportunity to see the world."

The 2011 graduate of Ridgewood High School is no stranger to life abroad.

She lived in Italy for a year through a program offered by the Ridgewood Rotary Club when she was a high school senior. She also spent a year in São Paulo, Brazil as an undergraduate.

"Living abroad is an addictive lifestyle," Bergin said.

There is no telling what the next three years have in store.

"I can't begin to imagine how this experience will impact me," Bergin said. "It is exciting and overwhelming all at once."
